Remembering James Lockhart

James Lockhart, the eminent historian of colonial Latin America, passed away on January 17, 2014. In recognition of Professor Lockhart’s position in the community as one of the foremost scholars of colonial Latin America, one who blazed the way forward in the leading subfields of social history and ethnohistory, the editors asked four of Lockhart’s former students to compose an obituary, which can be read here:
